Blue Santa Program

The La Porte Police Department Blue Santa Program began in 2011. With the help of La Porte Police Department, City and local businesses we are able to provide local families with assistance and gifts throughout the Christmas Holidays. La Porte Police Department emphasized that it is through local teamwork, such as the Blue Santa Program, that we can all make a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate.

Our La Porte Police Officers Association is teaming up with the La Porte Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, La Porte Municipal Court and many other city departments, local businesses and individual supporters for our annual BLUE SANTA program.

With the help of La Porte Police Officers, the La Porte Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, various City departments, and many generous community donors, the program is able to provide local families with assistance and gifts throughout the Christmas Holidays. In 2021, the Blue Santa Program assisted over nearly 400 registered families, which allowed 1,200 children to receive gifts.

Join us and help in assisting local families have a better Holiday Season. Collections stations will be set up around the City of La Porte Area and announced closer to the holiday season.

Drive-Thru:

On Monday, December 5, 2022, from 7:00 am – 1:00 p.m., the La Porte Police Department will host a drive through toy drop-off for the annual Blue Santa Program. The drive-through will be held in the parking lot of the Police Department located at 3001 N. 23rd Street, directly in front of the police building.  If you are not able to make the drive-thru event, please bring your donations by anytime until December 9th at the La Porte Police Department.

In addition to the drop-off day, the community can help by taking new unwrapped toys to specific drop boxes throughout La Porte. See below for more details.

Additionally, tax-deductible monetary donations for the program can be made to the La Porte Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (a registered 501(c)(3) organization). Checks made out to the Association can be dropped off any time at the La Porte Police Department, 3001 North 23rd Street.
