Patrol Division

The Patrol Division is the largest division of the Police Department.  As the first responders in most cases the Patrol Division makes over 30,000 calls for service annually. Also included in the Patrol Division are two motorcycle officers,  and four Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) certified officers supervised by Sergeant Rod Davis.

The Patrol Division is on duty 24 hours a day 365 days a year.  The Patrol Division has many responsibilities including enforcement of traffic laws and all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.  We also answer requests for service from citizens such as checking out suspicious activity or responding when life, health, or property is threatened.

The Patrol Division is the most visible part of the Police Department and has the most contact with the citizens.  Although issuing tickets and filing charges is part of our job, we are also there when a child is missing or someone is injured in an automobile accident.  We are here to serve and to protect and we take pride in the fact that the City of La Porte has a well-trained and professional Police Department.
