Ray Nolen, Chief

Ray Nolen became the 4th Chief for the City of La Porte Emergency Medical Service on May 24, 2004.

Chief Nolen began his EMS career when he was 17 years of age by joining a local Medical Explorers Post in Pasadena, Texas. He has been a career emergency medical professional, serving for the City of La Porte Emergency Medical Service since March of 1987 when he was 21 years of age. He was appointed to the position of Assistant EMS Chief in 1990 at the age of 25 and remained at that rank for 14 years until his promotion to the position of Chief.

Chief Nolen is also a certified peace officer, currently serving as a Captain for the Galveston County Sheriff Office where he has been employed for over 18 years. During Chief Nolen's tenure with the Sheriff Office he has been assigned to the divisions of Marine and Patrol.

He and his wife Michelle have 3 children, Shaine, Alix and Brooke.

                                            When not on duty, Chief Nolen enjoys hunting, sports, and fitness training.
