The Tax Division is responsible for the billing and collection of ad valorem (property) taxes. In addition to collecting taxes for the City of La Porte, this Division bills and collects property taxes on behalf of the La Porte Independent School District and the Cities of Morgan's Point and Shoreacres. Tax bills for all of these entities are mailed during the month of October. Taxes are due on or before January 31st. Unpaid taxes become delinquent on February 1st.
