2010 LA PORTE HEALTH & SAFETY FAIR

                         La Porte Junior High





The City of La Porte, La Porte LEPC, and La Porte ISD will host the 2010 La Porte Health & Safety Fair on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at La Porte Junior High. 

The Health and Safety Fair provides information and helpful hints for families and citizens of all ages. The public can receive information on how to better prepare themselves, their families, and their community for emergency situations. The fair is free and open to the public.  The first 500 children will receive FREE Safety Fair t-shirts.  Many door prizes will be given away throughout the event.          

Some of the exhibits at the fair will include free child ID kits, information on fire prevention, free health screenings, the Teddy Bear First Aid Clinic, and much more. There will also be fire and ladder trucks, ambulances, command vans, HazMat rescue trailers, and a 24 ft. rock climbing wall.

Demonstrations will include the Ronald McDonald Magic Show, Albemarle "Fatal Vision" Alcohol Awareness Demo, La Porte Fire Marshal’s "Learn Not to Burn" trailer, Fire Extinguisher Demos, Air Products Liquid Nitrogen Demo, Jaws of Life Demo, and the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office Arson Dog presentation.  

Information on fire extinguisher training, bicycle safety, shelter in place training, pet safety, and emergency preparedness will be available at the event.  In addition, free spinal screenings, and free glucose and cholesterol screenings will be provided.
